Today George Steuart Teas is one of the country's foremost exporters of Ceylon Tea, with a suite of exclusive tea-based products and value added packaging. The company to date continues to market its original blends in theea processing which includes buying, warehousing, blending and packaging is closely controlled by the company, deploying its own resources, such as state-of-the-art blending facilities, ultra-modern tea bagging and fully automated packaging. The company’s experienced tea tasters produce a wide range of quality tea products while adhering to strict international food quality and safety standards.

The ‘Steuart Tea’ range of teas includes Black Tea, Green Tea, Herbal Tea and Flavoured Tea which make up the bulk of the export portfolio, destined for key global markets. In 2013, George Steuart also embarked on a new journey to market the best of pure Sri Lankan Tea to the delight of the Sri Lankan consumer.

Our History

Established in 1835 by brothers James and George Steuart,George Steuart & Company stands proud today as the oldest mercantile establishment in Sri Lanka. In its span of nearly two centuries George Steuart & Company has made immense contributions to establish Sri Lanka as one of world's foremost producers of finest quality
teas. The company has paid great attention to maintaining its distinction from the rich British traditions it finds its roots in, a testament of which is the company's dedication to preserving the artistry of tea making, exacting the standards of the British Empire and its aristocratic flair blended with the signature goodness of pure Ceylon tea. A SINGLE ORIGIN TEA renowned the world over for its excellence, sourced from the lush tea gardens of the hill country where handpicked tea buds and leaves are transformed into the aromatic indulgence that is "Steuarts Tea". Our Facilities

The entire chain of tea processing which includes buying, warehousing, blending and packaging is closely controlled by the company, deploying our own resources, such as state-of-the-art blending facilities, ultra-modern tea bagging and fully automated packaging. The company’s experienced tea tasters produce a wide range of quality tea products while adhering to strict international food quality and safety standards. Our manufacturing facilities and warehousing covers a total area of 100,000 sq/feet and is based in close proximity to Colombo.
